Acabo de conocer dos excelentes nuevas bandas por medio de mi amigo Hans. Éstas son “Panic! At the Disco”, y “The Fall of Troy”. Por estos días estas bandas se han ligado de sobremanera para mi. Primero, son las que ahora estoy escuchando con alevosía; y segundo, la revista SPIN MAGAZINE las ha nombrado bandas del día durante el pasado 2005, y hoy están disputando una votación on-line (http://www.spin.com/poll/?mode=vote&story_id=8041) para ver cual de ellas será la banda del año según SPIN MAGAZINE, hasta el cierre de ésta edición la votación daba un 36% para Panic! At the Disco, y un 64% para The Fall of Troy. Cabe decir que SPIN es una publicación escrita y electrónica de gran incidencia en USA, tanto o más como lo son MTV, TRL, THE ROLLING STONES, PUREVOLUME y MY SPACE. Por eso ahora les dejo un 2 x 1.

Panic! At The Disco ~ A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out (2005) ~ Fueled by Ramen/Decaydance records (USA)
No es nada raro que comente, una vez más, una banda que mezcla estilos luego de haber hablado de Head Automatica. Ahora, los chicos provenientes de la ciudad del pecado Las Vegas, Nevada, han llegado para romper con los charts norteamericanos con su disco debut. Reconociendo que comenzaron como una banda que tocaba covers de Blink-182 debutaron en el puesto #112 del Billboard Album chart, y en el #6 del Billboard Independent chart con ventas que alcanzaron 10.000 copias solo durante la primera semana. El disco de Panic! At The Disco en estos momentos está en la vitrina más iluminada de la tienda de discos. Me imagino una como la que tenía Rob (john Cusack) en Hi-Fidelity. Mientras que “The Fall Of Troy”, está en el cajón de lo nuevo alternativo, lugar en el cual pocos se detienen a escuchar con cuidado, por lo ruidoso y fugaz sin enganche que estos poseen. Para acabar con los mitos sobre el nombre, “Panic” viene una línea de la canción del mismo nombre del grupo Name Taken, que hace mención a un tema con la misma palabra pero de la banda The Smiths.
Con una voz, claramente confundible con la de Pete Wentz (vocalista de Fall Out Boy), juegos de guitarras como The Killers (oriundos de la misma ciudad de las luces de neón), y vestimentas como The Hives, Panic! At The Disco posee un fuerte discurso en sus líricas, el cual baila a la onda disco, y rockea con un rock/pop, pop/punk mezclado con beats de baterías programadas, sintetizadores y acordeones.
Fue cuando el vocalista/guitarrista Brendon Urie dejo un comentario de visita en el live journal del vocalista de Fall Out Boy, dándole el link hasta el sitio de Panic! At The Disco en Purevolume.com cuando se dio el momento de la misma banda. Urie luego grabo algunas pistas en el sello del líder de Fall Out Boy (Decaydance records) y ZAP!
El disco suena bastante fresco, original y bueno. En las primeras vueltas del CD puede taladrar como punk/rock, pero es sin duda el segundo mejor disco rock/pop/electrónica que he escuchado luego del debut de Head Automatica. Panic! At the disco, ha compuesto su iniciación de tal forma que todas las canciones constan de dos partes, tienen sus fragmento con sintetizadores, programas de beats, pianos, acordeones; y su contra parte con guitarras afiladas y baterías descontroladas, casi siempre la cosa se da así, intro electrónica – verso rockero – coro mezclado – verso electrónico y así sucesivamente.Los títulos largos de los temas, por ejemplo “The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage”,” Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off”, y “There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey. You Just Haven't Thought Of It Yet”; son todos y cada uno de ellos inversamente proporcionales a la simplicidad de sus versos, coros y temática en general. Por ejemplo “Nails For Breakfast, Tacks For Snacks” en su coro solo dice: “Las píldoras recetadas para calmar los temblores, para parar con las píldoras, sabes que debes tomarlas cada día a tiempo”. “Camisado” (track 5), es una de las destacadas que quedará en tu memoria por uno momentos, con su melodía pegote, al igual que el “track 2”, por su parte el “track 9” despliega simplicidad hablando de estar en un cabaret sintiéndose culpable pero dichoso a la vez.
Siendo impresionantemente jóvenes (todos con 18 años, y uno con 19), los integrantes de Panic! Han sabido como poder mezclar estilos, siguiendo la senda por el lado de lo que hace Bloc Party o en su contra parte Fall Out Boy. Siempre podrá parecerse a las nuevas bandas Emo (no me gusta usar esa clasificación) que suenan por hoy en día, pero la capacidad musical de Panic! At The disco deberá ser re-afirmada en lo que sea su segundo disco. Por otro lado, no merecen ser la banda del año. Han vendido lo suficiente.

es una banda bastante origina aperte de tener influencis de grupos que tubieron una gran trayectoria. me gusta mucho la banda, pero no la veo con un gran futuro, ellos son jovenes y les falta creser... igualmente le deceo lo mejor...
